To do this, you should run "bqmenu" .. Admin .. Schedules .. Define schedule .. Define LIST type. Give the schedule a name, go into the calendar (normally Ctrl-T), then enter "a" and return. You can then use the arrows to set up the desired runtime. If it is an existing schedule, proceed as above but with Modify schedule and then add a line to the schedule by using the down arrow key to position at the first blank line. Regards, Barry Green |

Currently the External Override File cannot contain any wildcards. The workaround is to specify the exact instance name in the External Override File. A better way of doing this is via the Agent namespace variables, which you can send down to the Agents via wpconfig or PCM. (For Unix KM less than 8.3.04) Host icon menu -> Knowledge Module Admin -> UNIX3 -> FILESYSTEM Application -> Edit FILESYSTEM Exclusion List -> Ignore CD-ROM Filesystems -> Apply (For Unix KM greater than or equal to 8.3.04) Right click on the UNIX_OS icon -> Knowledge Module Admin -> FILESYSTEM Application -> Edit FILESYSTEM Exclusion List -> Ignore CD-ROM Filesystems -> Apply The menu pick "Toggle FILESYSTEM Disc. Debug" can be selected to see what the PSL is doing during discovery. To do this en masse, you need to set the /AgentSetup/FILESYSTEM.filterList variable and send this out to your agents with wpconfig or PCM. You can use wildcards in this list, e.g. cdrom.* |

"batchq -delete nn", will attempt to instruct the job number nn using UNIX signals defined using the "kill_sequence" parameter in the control.cfg config file. In oder for a batchq command to successfully kill a running job, the job must respond to the signals being sent to it. Can you check the process stack starting with the PPID of the BQplus subcontroller for the job in question? nb. "batchq -delete nn -force" should only be used to delete an incorrectly marked "exec" job. This might be the case if BQplus processes have been killed through the shell or the machine has gone down unexpectedly while jobs have been running. A "batchq -fix" is a better way of correcting incorrectly marked "exec" jobs. |

Mid-range Products / BMC PATROL / modify or recreate loglib cat_log_msg library |

Hi to all We customized the old LOG KM 1.1.02, and we'd like to keep it. To be able to upgrade in LOG KM 2.0.01, We'd like to create a kit with the old LOG KM 1.1.02. To do so, I planned : 1 - to identify all the files (km, psl, libraries, hlp etc...). 2- copy and prefix them with "XXX_'filename.yyy'" Everything goes right, until we use the menu command "manage list of monitored files" Then the following error message comes up in the "SOW" 20051102152650 ATO_LOG.ATO_LOG Command, Line# 622: response `PATROL-Message-Unknown: Catalog 100/1e MsgNum 367 I believe it's inadequacy between (loglib.lib, cat_log_msg.lib, 1e.cat) files and the modified Kms and PSL files.( So I tried unsuccessfully to use hexa editor to modified the libraries, because they contains "the LOG KM name hardcoded." For exemple I wanted to modified /LOG /LOGMON /LOGTEMP with /ATO_LOG /ATO_LOGMON /ATO_LOGTEMP Then the libraries were corrupted... May Anybody light me up for how to modify or recreate the libraries ? Any advise will be very welcome. Thank's Fodil. |

Hi, Do you please have any idea about how to automate a break update connection between agent & console ? for I met the following problem : we use LOG km v1.1.02 to monitore many files, on agent. Very often we observe that news messages do not come up to the console unless we do a manual break/update on the relevant agent. though the link between console & agent appears as still active ever met this symptom ? Regards, Fodil. |

| I am going to hold off a bit on this Saiid, the issue has to do with usage of the samba client within the script, so I am hoping I can get our Unix guys to find a solution for that. If not I will revisit the forum and provide the info you have asked for. |

Sorry, no dates as yet. If there was no workaround, a patch release would be issued more or less immediately. Otherwise, it has to wait for the next official release... I'll be sure to let you know when I get some concrete timescales. |
