PATROL® for Check Point FireWall-1
Business Challenge
The firewall is the most highly visible line of defense in an organization's security environment. Firewalls must uphold an organization's security policy, protect critical data from malicious destruction or theft, and protect critical systems from inappropriate or illegal access. Organizations must have complete confidence that their systems and data are secure. With attempted violations growing, the availability and performance of the firewall becomes a critically important task.
Business Need
- Ensure firewall devices are available
- Integrate firewall management with enterprise management
- Employ management tools to enforce compliance and detect violations of the security policy
- Notify administrators of unauthorized policy and security breaches and configuration changes
- Maintain a management tool that does not add to the complexity of firewall deployment
Our Solution
PATROL for Check Point FireWall-1 automates failure notification to ensure firewall availability and minimize security risks. Deployment is quick and easy. PATROL installs on, and monitors from, the Check Point FireWall-1 management servers. PATROL uses Check Point's Open Platform for Security (OPSEC) API. This management software monitors for availability and failure of firewall nodes, firewall management servers, and the critical properties, such as rules, of each firewall module.
