PATROL® for Network Appliance Filers
Business Challenge
Network Appliance Filers is a family of enterprise class storage systems that offers many configuration options. It is important to automate metrics, health checks, and diagnostics to monitor the device's health, but this can be difficult to accomplish without automated tools. As capacity increases or storage is added, it becomes even more critical to ensure the device is online and performing.
Business Need
- Simplify device management and centralize storage management by combining storage data and tasks
- Ensure availability, optimize performance, and automate maintenance of network storage devices
- Monitor, expose, and manage key environmental and performance data points to avoid system downtime
- Isolate and resolve device problems quickly and automatically with minimal manual intervention
- Guarantee applications service levels and access by identifying device-related events and alerts
Our Solution
PATROL for Network Appliance Filers helps you effectively configure, monitor and centrally manage your Network Appliance Filers storage systems by gathering all performance, system and capacity metrics for event escalation and alerts. This is done at both the hardware storage and data organization level. This product collects data from the Network Appliance proprietary SNMP MIB and remote shell commands. Information collected includes CPU, cache, and other subsystem data; RAID disk statistics and status; quota, file system, and NFS and CIFS data; and alerts based on SNMP traps.
