PATROL® for SilkWorm
Business Challenge
Brocade SilkWorm is a family of Fibre Channel switches that help create intelligent storage networks for mission-critical Storage Area Networks (SANs). It is important to establish and modify device configurations and ensure the device's health, but this can be difficult to accomplish manually. As capacity and storage are added, it becomes even more critical to ensure the device is online and performing optimally.
Business Need
- Simplify device management and centralize storage management by combining storage data and tasks
- Ensure availability, optimize performance, and automate maintenance of network storage devices
- Monitor, expose, and manage key environmental and performance data points to avoid system downtime
- Isolate and resolve device problems quickly and automatically with minimal manual intervention
- Guarantee application service levels and access by identifying device-related events and alerts
Our Solution
PATROL for Brocade SilkWorm leverages both industry-standard and proprietary sources to gather performance, configuration and device status and event information. Starting at the switch level, PATROL for Brocade SilkWorm lets you drill down into the device to view status information about the power supply, temperature, sensors and fans. You can also view port level configuration information such as port type, world wide name, port state, port status and zoning. A variety of port performance statistics are also available.
