PATROL® for Sun StorEdgeTM T3 array
Business Challenge
Sun StorEdge T3 arrays are a family of highly scalable storage systems that offer many configuration options. It is important to establish and modify device configurations and ensure the availability of the array, but this can be difficult to accomplish manually. As capacity and storage are added, it becomes even more critical to ensure the device is healthy, online, and performing.
Business Need
- Simplify device management and centralize storage management by combining storage data and tasks
- Ensure availability, optimize performance, and automate maintenance of network storage devices
- Monitor, expose, and manage key environmental and performance data points
- Isolate and resolve device problems quickly and automatically
- Guarantee applications' service levels and access by identifying device-related events
Our Solution
PATROL for Sun StorEdgeTM T3 array uses Sun's Jiro technology to gather performance, configuration, device-status and event information through the Sun StorEdge T3 Management Facade. PATROL for Sun StorEdge T3 array also lets you drill down into the controller, physical disk drives and logical units that are presented back to the hosts. You can view performance metrics including those for cache and changes in I/O activity at both the controller and LUN level. With this product you can also map LUNs to physical drives and monitor environmental elements such as fans and batteries.
